The Institute of International Education at Otemae University is pleased to announce a new interdisciplinary, open-access academic journal, Journal of Research and Pedagogy. The journal is published both in print through Otemae University and online (with free access through Otemae University CELL library). All submissions are reviewed.

This publication emphasizes international and pluralistic approaches to EFL pedagogy classroom that draw on culture as well as language educational philosophies. While highlighting the benefits of English as a common global language we are also dedicated to the place of cultural diversity and global Englishes. We seek to balance diverse threads of scholarship, from essays on EFL pedagogy to content articles or theoretical research in education, literature, the arts, or history. Our journal aims to combine analyses of both theory and practice with a broad interdisciplinary focus. Our first issue appeared at the end of April, 2015 and our second in April 2016.

We accept submissions in American English and APA style--in general, we follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th edition. Consult recent copies of the IIE Journal for formatting.

Titles should be in size 14 bold Georgia font. Papers should be single-spaced, size 12 Georgia font. Submissions should include the full name, title, affiliation, and contact information of the author. Submissions must include an abstract in both English and Japanese, as well as an author biography in 25 words or less.

To be considered for publication in our spring journal, tentative abstracts are due AUGUST 5TH, 2016. Completed submissions are due NOVEMBER 1st, 2016. Accepted articles will appear in our April 2017 issue. We accept articles for subsequent issues at any time during the year.
