Applicants must meet all of the requirements from 1) to 4) below. Please note that the Special Selection for International Students is only open to applicants for the Field of Nursing Practice Science.
1) Foreign nationals who do not hold permanent residence status in Japan
2) Applicants who have obtained (or are expected to obtain) a nursing license issued in a foreign country.
3) Applicants who meet any one of the following conditions①, ②, or ③.
① Applicants who have completed 16 years of formal school education in a foreign country.
② Applicants who have completed the 16-year educational curriculum of a foreign country by taking correspondence courses offered by an educational institution of that country while in Japan.
③ Applicants other than those described in ① and ② who are recognized by this graduate school, through an individual admission eligibility screening, as having academic ability equivalent to or higher than that of a university graduate, and who are at least 22 years of age.(An individual eligibility screening is required prior to application. Please check the application period on the website, and download and submit the required forms for the screening.)
4) Applicants who possess sufficient language proficiency (in Japanese or English) to understand graduate-level lectures.
① Applicants wishing to study in Japanese must have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N1 or possess an equivalent level of Japanese language proficiency.
② Applicants wishing to study in English must have a TOEFL score of 550 (PBT) or 80 (iBT), or an IELTS overall band score of approximately 6.0.
[Important] Prior Consultation Regarding the Research Field
Before applying, applicants are required to meet with an academic supervisor in their intended field of study to consult about research, academic guidance, and related matters after admission.

The examination fee must be paid "by telegraphic transfer" to the designated bank account within the application period. The transfer must be made in the name of the applicant. All transfer fees must be borne by the applicant. After payment, proof of payment must be enclosed with the application documents. A copy of the Residence Card showing the status of residence and period of stay. Applicants who reside overseas must submit copies of all pages containing entries in their passport. Admission decisions will be based on a comprehensive evaluation of application documents, Statement of Purpose, and the results of an individual interview. The interview will be conducted online (in either English or Japanese) by multiple faculty members.

※ Fees paid at the time of enrollment procedures (admission fee and tuition fee) are non-refundable.
However, if the applicant notifies the Academic Affairs Division in writing of their withdrawal from enrollment by March 19, 2027 (Fri.) [must arrive by this date] and completes the prescribed procedures, the tuition fee will be refunded, excluding the admission fee.
※ In the final academic year, a separate lifetime alumni association fee of 10,000 yen will be charged, together with tuition and other fees. Graduates of Otemae University or Otemae Women's University are exempt from this fee.
※ In addition to the above, approximately 70,000 yen will be required in the first year for comprehensive insurance for nursing students, infection control expenses, a student ID lanyard, locker keys, and other items.
(Items and amounts are subject to change.) Travel expenses and other costs associated with off-campus clinical training must be borne by the student.
※ Upon enrollment, students are asked to prepare a laptop computer. (If students already own a device that meets the university's specifications and performance standards, a new purchase is not necessary.) Detailed information regarding preparation will be provided separately prior to enrollment.
※ In addition, expenses for textbooks, reference books, and other materials will be required.
(1) Purpose of Use
Personal information provided in the application and enrollment procedures will be used for the administration of entrance examinations, notification of results, enrollment procedures, and related administrative operations.
(2) Handling Policy
① All personal information provided will be strictly handled. Furthermore, it will not be used for any purposes other than those stated under "Purpose of Use" above.
②The handling of personal information provided may be entrusted to external contractors. In such cases, contractors recognized as appropriately handling personal information will be selected, and appropriate supervision and management will be ensured.
