A message from the IIE Center Director
Director of Institute of International Education
IIE was established in April, 2014 to realize one of Otemae’s goals, “foster students with outstanding problem-solving ability and international perspectives”.
IIE’s objectives are:
- Nurture human resources who have high aspirations and capacity to challenge global-scale difficulties with remarkable problem-solving ability, deep understanding of Japanese and other cultures and excellent communication ability both in Japanese and English as a universal language.
- Contribute to research and development for international education, to nurture of specialists and to improvement of educational methods.
The following system was organized to accomplish our objectives. IIE is achieving significant outcomes. The new international education programs such as GJS, GBS and GCS, which are interactive courses conducted in English, have started. In 2014 we launched an IIE journal as a collection of academic papers on international education.
IIE spares no effort in improving educational environment for students. We are looking forward to seeing students with various cultural backgrounds from around the world and wish that they maximize their potentials and expand their fields of activities worldwide.
